Managing
director, Steve King, moved his indoor raceway business to Tremaine Avenue,
Palmerston North, after two successful years of business in Napier. In 1996,
the much larger Bennett Street premises became available and Daytona moved once
again.
In partnership with his wife, Karen, and aided by a strong team headed by Chris
Green, Steve has built Daytona into a landmark industry. The Company now owns
three raceways in New Zealand with a fourth currently under construction. Palmerston
North is the base of operations where the founder of Daytona (Stephen King)
resides. The Daytona Karts are manufactured and assembled here.
Chris Green made the move to Wellington when Daytona built its second raceway
in 1999 and became the Manager of Daytona Wellington. In 2004 Wellington was
sold over to Rob Blitz as a franchise business.
Hamilton is the third of Daytona's growing raceways. Situated in Te Rapa, Daytona Hamilton is
arguably the best this country has ever seen. Manager Paul Ansley has an outstanding team
and a top of the line setup.
